Advantages of a Floating Dock

If it floats, it belongs on the water.

If you own a boat or live on a waterfront property, you probably know what a floating dock is. What you may not know is all the advantages they have and why they can be a great option for many waterfront property owners.

How Floating Docks are Different from Fixed Docks

The main difference is that floating docks float and fixed docks don't. Floating docks are adaptable to water changes and appeal to the eye. Fixed docks are not adaptable to water changes and are very stable.

Benefits of a Floating Dock

Floating docks can be easily removed if ever needed. One huge benefit to a floating dock is that they adapt to varying water levels. If your water level is very low in the winter, but then rises a lot in the spring your dock will adjust to the water level. They are also very durable and easy to maintain.

Durable Floating Dock Options

There are many floating dock options on the market. Here are some of our favorites!

PolyDock comes in a herringbone pattern and not only looks premium, but feels like it too. It is easy to own and provides you with minimum maintenance so you'll never have to paint, stain, or replace warped wood again. PolyDock also doesn’t get too hot on your feet when the weather gets hot.

The Hewitt Custom Floating Dock has engineered sections to provide great strength, corrosion resistance, and long-term durability. The frames are braced with heavy-duty structural aluminum or galvanized steel.
