Every parent is constantly looking for different activities for their kids to do so they are entertained and not stuck in front of the screens for hours a day. Getting outside and doing activities that are out of the ordinary for them will get them excited and they will be occupied for hours. 1. Scavenger Hunt

Write a list of items your kids could find close by for their very own scavenger hunt. This will get them outside, burn energy, and allow them to search for things in nature.

2. Fly a Kite

Find an area nearby with a wide open space to fly a kite. This is a fun activity for kids to teach them patience. Don't have a kite - learn how to make your own here.

3. Backyard Camping

Camping in the backyard is the perfect "getaway", but even better when it is backyard camping since you don't have to go anywhere. Just walk out your backdoor and have a camping trip right at home with the kiddos. Don’t forget the s’mores!

4. Picnic

Taking the kids outside for a picnic is an exciting way for them to eat their lunch. Take them outside (even if it is just in the backyard) lay down a blanket and give them their favorite sandwich, fruit, and more!

5. Trash Pick-Up

Take them around the neighborhood with a trash bag and pick up any trash that you find! The person with the most pieces of trash wins! Don’t forget the gloves to keep everyone safe and away from unwanted germs!
